What's one more???

Castel joins the villa di Toscana Pack

We are preparing for the arrival of a new foster boxer named Castel, or Cas for short.  And isn't he handsome??  This sweet boy was rescued from a shelter in North Texas on May 5th of this year. Poor Cas tested positive for heartworms and will require treatment before going to live in his perfect forever home. So for now, he will hang his leash with my crew.

I must explain the name - and no its not a typo! You see we have a bit of a theme here at villa di Tuscana.  So I borrow a bit of info from Wikipedia and added some more info about the dogs I miss so dearly.

Tuscany (pronounced [ta'skaːny]) Spelled Toscana in Italian, and a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres (8,900 sq mi) and a population of about 3.8 million.  Our Tuscany is the white beauty on this blog, and is stunning in person as well as on film.  She was our first boxer, and she has owned us since the week she was born in September of 2002.  She is the alpha of our pack, and sometimes referred to as Queen Tuscany or QT for short.

Lucca (pronounced [lu'ka]) is a city and comune in the region of Tuscana, central Italy, situated on the river Serchio in a fertile plain near the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Lucca.  Lucca is the handsome fawn boy who graces my home page, and looks oh so dapper in his photos.  He joined our family from Dallas Animal Services in 2012 by way of Legacy Boxer Rescue as our family's first foster and became forever family in fairly short order.  Lucca is Tuscany's best friend and her bubby, sometimes referred to as Bubba Lu.

Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (pronounced [cas'tel] is a town and comune in the Province of Lucca, Toscana, central Italy. It is located at rises at the confluence of the Serchio and the Turrite Secca river, close to the intersection among the roads passing through the Apennine Mountains and the Apuane Alps.  Cas has been in quarantine with another foster family since escaping the confines of the shelter and will be joining us soon.

  1. He's so handsome! I'm glad he's joined the family, and I can't wait to learn more about him.
